Empowering Adolescent Girls Through Hygiene Education – Mission RELA
ARLES, in partnership with the DRDO Nirmal, launched Mission RELA to promote menstrual hygiene and livelihood opportunities for adolescent girls and women in rural Telangana. The program combines awareness sessions, sanitary pad vending machines in villages, and a local production unit in Kuntala Mandal. Over 3,000 women and 50 schools have been reached, with 264 SHGs engaged in Pembi block. By improving access to hygiene products and creating income avenues, Mission RELA empowers women with health, dignity, and economic independence, aiming to transform every Gram Panchayat into a “Healthy Women GP” across Nirmal District.

Nutri Bowl Program: Promoting Nutrition and Health Among Rural Women
ARLES, in collaboration with the District Rural Development Office (DRDO), launched the Nutri Bowl Program to improve health and nutrition among SHG women in Nirmal District. The initiative established 450 nutrition gardens in one-gunta plots at Anganwadi centres and household backyards. These gardens supply a daily bowl of mixed vegetables, helping women combat anemia, enhance mineral and nutrient intake, and maintain better health. The program also reduces household food expenses while promoting self-sufficiency in accessing quality vegetables. Through this effort, ARLES fosters a culture of sustainable, nutrition-focused living in rural communities.
